Good morning, and welcome to another edition of Abe’s Coffee Column.
I have very exciting news for you all this morning. To our delight, our friends at Honest Coffees have agreed to become the official partner of Abe’s Coffee Column, powering the drive towards #betterofficecoffee into the future!
The baby of American expat Mr. Wyatt Cavalier (I know, great name huh?), Honest Coffees supply ethically-sourced and locally roasted speciality-grade coffee beans to offices, restaurants and homes through the post. Based in Kings Cross, London, they also stock a range of expert-selected but affordable bean-to-cup coffee machines for offices, leading the charge for #betterofficecoffee.
We can vouch for their coffee, too – it’s really, really good. They offer three single origin coffees – the Colombian ‘Firefly’, ‘Up & At ‘Em’ from Guatemala and ‘El Capitan’, from Peru. Each are Rainforest Alliance approved, Soil Association Organic certified and Fairtrade. Their coffee is fair, responsible, honest…without compromising on quality – for less than half the price of many of their competitors. Honest are dedicated to making sure the folks that grow their coffee get a fair deal, and are rewarded for their dedication and hard work.
Take the ‘Firefly’, for example, our coffee of the month. Grown in the Cooperativa Del Sur Del Cauca, deep in the Colombia Jungle, it’s a high quality, fairtrade coffee with almond, raspberry and dark chocolate notes, produced with love and against the odds. The coop is forced to share space with the armed extremist groups making use of the rugged terrain. Until the Fairtrade premium was introduced, its farmers were forced to shift to less reputable, but more profitable crops. The farmers there now produce something they are truly passionate about, and deserve to be celebrated.
“Since our organisation gained Fair Trade certification, we have been able to invervene in the coffee production, allowing more fair conditions with regards to price and weight in the purchase of the coffee.”
I am proud to align Abe’s Coffee Column and Greener Media to a coffee company so actively promoting better office coffee and so invested in ethical, fair and high-quality organic coffee, and the farmers that grow it.
We would like to say a big thank you to Wyatt, Grace, Steve and Digby at Honest Coffees for the great work that they do for better, greener and more responsible office coffee, and especially for their generous support of the column. Together, we’ll be unstoppable!
Here’s to a fruitful and highly-caffeinated partnership!

THE HONEST PROMISE
We’re Honest Coffees, and it’s our mission to deliver the best artisanally-produced fairtrade coffee in the world.
We don’t think you should have to compromise on quality to buy something you feel good about, so all our single origin coffee is sourced ethically, roasted locally and priced fairly. Both our suppliers and customers get a fair deal.
